Hello! My name is Jennifer Rodig and this is my second year teaching at HUHS. For the last two years, I worked as a long term sub at Homestead Highschool during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years. Additionally, I have subbed on a regular base throughout the greater Milwaukee area in districts such as Pewaukee, Slinger and Brookfield. I am a graduate of UW-Platteville, majoring in English Education at the Secondary Level. In 2015, I also worked as a paraprofessional, and as such, have taught and worked with all age groups, K-12.
I am a hobby seamstress and enjoy playing the piano and hiking, but also find pastimes in drawing portraiture, reading and writing. In past years, I have spent time studying in Germany and speak the language with conversational fluency, using my experiences there to inform my personal life and educational goals in hopes of broadening student horizons. I hold two certificates in German language from The American Council on Teaching Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
My prior experiences have given me the advantage of flexibility and adaptability, but am I pleased to find myself here in Hartford. Here, in a place closer to home, I hope to nourish and encourage the educational and experiential growth of my students that they might become well rounded, world-ready individuals.
