About The Club
Hartford Union High School Snowboard Team is a competitive Alpine team which began racing in 2016. We race in a conference with several SE Wisconsin High Schools in regular season and have now competed as a team at State Championships in LaCrosse.
The team practices on Wednesdays and Sundays at Little Switzerland when the hill opens for the season. There are a total of eight competition days in the regular season which usually start on the first weekend of the new year. Competitions are all on weekends and, with the exception of State Championships, have been in Southern Wisconsin. All racers compete in Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Boardercross events.
We have the potential for both JV and Varsity teams and all students race at each event. Students who compete on the Varsity team have the opportunity to earn a Varsity Letter. No racing experience is required to join the team and there are no tryouts. All racers, however must start with a basic ability to snowboard - get on and off the lift independently and maneuver the hill in control.
Our information/Registration meeting will be held Tuesday, October 3rd, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the room 195. We will discuss an overview of the team, expectations and answer all questions. The meeting is open to all high school students, preferably with a parent, of HUHS for the 2023-2024 school year.
Look for us on social media - Facebook and Twitter and Instagram to get an idea of how a competition course looks and of the fun the team has throughout the season.
