The Hartford Union High School District wants you to be informed. State law required important policies and procedures impacting students and employee safety, responsibilities, and rights be communicated on an annual basis. If you do not have access to the HUHS website, please request a written copy of any of the policies below by contacting the Superintendent in writing.
Under Wisconsin State Budget Act 55, public schools are required to annually communicate the following additional information:
- Academic Standards
The HUHS District is committed to using benchmarked and rigorous standards that set high expectations for student performance and prepare students for success in college and careers. The District administers the state required assessments which include ACT Aspire, ACT, and ACT WorkKeys. Specific policies related to academic standards are as follows: Policy 2131, Policy 2132, Policy 2210, Policy 2220, Policy 2230, Policy 2370, Policy 5410, Policy 5420.
- Accountability Report
As part of the state accountability system, the DPI has produced report cards for every district and school in Wisconsin. Information on most recent report cards can be found at the link above.
- Educational Options
School districts are required to provide a list of the educational options available to children who reside in the pupil's resident school district no later than January 31 each year.

- A child with a disability is allowed to attend a participating private school of the child or the child's parent's choice, if that child has previously been rejected from attending school in a nonresident district under the open enrollment program. An ineligible child may begin attending an eligible school at any time during the school year.
PI-26 is the legislation in the State of Wisconsin that requires every school district to have an Education for Employment plan in place. HUHS District provides each student with an individualized academic and career plan that outlines a path for them to be successful in post-secondary life. We engage parents and promote cooperation between industry, business and school to foster economic development.
