Basic Season Info
The boys swim season runs mid-November through mid-February.
Dual meets (for both JV and Varsity swimmers) are almost all on Tuesday & Thursday evenings this year. Varsity Invitationals (most have been canceled due to covid) are held on a handful of Saturdays. The annual Alumni Scrimmage (canceled this year) invites OriOwls of seasons past to compete against this year's team. Both OriOwl hosted meets bring intense energy to the Bird Bath - plan to be there (watch them virtually)!
In the offseason, join the Girls Swim Team for their Annual Pike Lake Swim Challenge on the 2nd to last Friday in August. For details and the required permission slip.
Prep for the Season
- Prep your shoulders with pre-season training
- Join an area U.S. Swimming Team
- Take advantage of the athlete training courses: Strength & Speed @ HUHS & Strength & Agility @ SHS.
- Swim laps. If you have no pool/lake access, then run, bike, play soccer to build up cardiovascular endurance.
- Try the 7 min app (Coach Hagen's favorite).
- Keep your grades up. Complete all assignments. Turn all assignments in. Seek additional help when needed.
