Boys Wrestling

Hartford boosts one of the top wrestling programs in the State of Wisconsin.  This tradition is built upon hard work and commitment on the part of wrestlers and coaches.  Our practices begin in early November and the season ends in February.  However, the varsity continues to complete in the WIAA Tournament series which culminates with the State Team Tournament.  The freshman team practices early every night after school.  No one gets cut from wrestling.  Most wrestlers compete in 15-20 matches on both the freshman and JV levels.  It is possible to wrestle on the varsity or JV as a freshman!  No prior experience is necessary.  All that is required is a willingness to work hard and a championship attitude!

2014-2015 Season

Congratulations to the Wrestling Team on an outstanding State Tournament. With 37-30 win over Lake Geneva Badger in the Quarterfinals, and a 30-25 win over Holmen in the Semifinals the Hartford wrestling team advanced to the State Finals Saturday Night. In a very exciting hard fought dual the Orioles fell to Wisconsin Rapids 25-33 barely missing out on the State Title. The team also broke a record this year, with the most wins by a senior class, with 309 wins. HUHS Wrestlers presented their trophy to District Administrator, Lisa Olson. The trophey is on display in the front lobby. Congratulations Wrestlers for a record breaking season, and placing Second in the State!
