IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL PARENTS!

Please know that Hartford Union High School does not endorse or sanction any sort of School Skip day. To the contrary, we believe that instructional time is precious, especially as we approach final exams beginning on June 5th.

In addition, students who skip school often engage in dangerous risk-taking behaviors on that day. This is the very reason we host and strongly encourage our seniors to participate in Project Graduation. We have already experienced the deaths of two students this school year. We don’t want any other families to experience any injuries or losses stemming from ill-advised behaviors that commonly occur on an unapproved skip day.

We ask parents, as a group, to resist pressure placed on them by their students to excuse them from school or to “cover” students’ absences. We ask for the cooperation of the parents by not excusing students except for a legitimate reason. Please help us to conclude the school year in a positive manner capped off by a joyous, family celebration of graduation on June 10th.
