Teaching classes that echo his high energy level, Mr. Mark Arnholt applies what he learned at Concordia University, his Alma Mater. He
graduated in 1999 with a BA Degree in Secondary Education and a BS
Degree in Biology.
Since 2001, Mr. Arnholt has been teaching
Aviation and Biology at HUHS.
Mr. Arnholt enjoys listening to and
playing music, playing board games, hunting, fishing, and just about
any outdoor activity. His two children keep him and his wife
on the go. |

Ms.Axford

Melanie Axford joined the teaching staff at HUHS in 2000. She is a 1997 graduate of UW-Eau Claire with a B.S. Degree in Biology with a Spanish minor. In 2000 she received her Teaching Certification from the same college. In 2007 she earned her Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Viterbo University. Currently Ms. Axford teaches Biology and Ecology & Environmental Science.
Ms. Axford is a PADI certified Open Water SCUBA instructor, and also enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking and camping.
Paris (her dog) and Ms. Axford participate in agility training together. She also has a cat named Isis and many classroom
fish. In addition to animals and the outdoors, Ms. Axford loves to travel and experience as much of the world as she can with her husband.

Mr. Bugenhagen

Mr. Dan Bugenhagen has worked at Hartford Union High School since 2002. He currently teaches Biology and Chemistry. Currently he is developing the Practical Chemistry course.
Mr. Bugenhagen enjoys spending time with his wife and son in his time off work.
An accomplished angler, Mr. Bugenhagen spends time in his boat named: "MY BOAT" as often as time allows. Others from the department frequently join him, where all are treated to his sense of humor resulting in extended laughter.
Mr. Bugenhagen has had teaching experiences in 5 different states, but enjoys working in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Mr. Chybowski

Mr. Curt Chybowski is a 1984 graduate of UW-Whitewater with a BSE
Degree. He also earned a Masters Degree in Education from Viterbo University.
Mr. Chybowski has been teaching at HUHs since 1991. When
not teaching Biology or Human Anatomy, Mr.
Chybowski can be found assisting in the football program as the head Freshman coach.
Along with spending time with his wife and teenage daughter, basketball, woodworking and fishing are among Mr. Chybowski's
many interests. |

Ms. Francis

Miss Jayne Francis joined the staff at Hartford Union High School in the fall of 2009. She completed her teaching certification at UW-Milwaukee after earning her degree in Biology from UW-Madison.
Currently Miss Francis teaches biology to her Freshman and Sophomore students.

Mr. Hoffmann

Mr. Ben Hoffmann is another HUHS alum (1993) who has returned to teach
at Hartford. His is a 1998 graduate of UW-Platteville with a
BS Degree (major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry). Mr.
Hoffmann's teaching career at HUHS began in the fall of 2004.
He currently teaches BBG and Biology.
Mr. Hoffmann is also the head Varsity Boys Basketball coach.
Reading, games and sports are activities he enjoys with his wife
and four children. |

Ms. John

Ms. Stacy John is a 1986 University of Minnesota graduate with a BA
Degree in Biological Anthropology. She also has a Teaching
Certification from Marquette University (1994). Ms. John
joined the Science Department in 2002 and teaches Chemistry 1 and AP Chemistry.
Miss John works home football games and is active in the Hartford community.
Miss John also has facinating stories from her years working for the Peace Corp in Malawi, Africa. |

Mr. Kawecki

Mr. Dave Kawecki teaches Honors Physics and Advanced Placement Physics and has been at HUHS since 2002. He obtained his teaching certification from UW-Milwaukee in 2002. Mr. Kawecki is a 1974 graduate of Union College in New York , with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. For 27 years he was a sales engineer, helping clients design mechanical and heat transfer systems.
Mr. Kawecki enjoys fishing, hiking, travel, and family activities with his wife, son, and daughter. |

Mr. Kahler

Mr. Kahler was in the U.S. Air Force for 9 years and was an aircraft avionics mechanic. Graduated from the University of Illinois in 1995 with a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering. He was in the business sector for 9 years and work with a glass manufacturing company. In 2005, Mark received a teacher certification from UW – Milwaukee in Science Education and is currently working on a Masters degree in Science Education. Mr. Kahler currently teach Physical Science, Chemistry and Conceptual Physics.
Out of the classroom, he enjoy spending time with his wife and basset hound (Jennifer & Andi) along with many nieces and nephews. He also enjoy the outdoors and does a lot of camping. Mark enjoy listening to music and sports radio. He tries to stay physically fit and since he is unable to give up the sweets and the other food group (meat) he has to exercise throughout the week. |

Mr. Martin

Kevin Martin hails from St. Norbert College, having received his BS
in biology in 2000. HUHS is his first teaching assignment.
His courses include Biology and Honors Advanced Biology. He
also is involved with Oceans Alive (2003).
When not in the Science
department, Mr. Martin can be found Assisting the Girls' Varsity
Soccer team for Hartford or coaching the Boys Freshman Soccer team
for Arrowhead High School.
Besides soccer, Mr. Martin enjoys music and of course spending as
much time with his family as possible. He and his wife are
kept busy at home with their three children. |

Mr. Wehrheim

Larry Wehrheim graduated from Purdue University in 1973 with a BS
Degree in Wildlife Biology. He continued his educational
pursuits at UW - Milwaukee receiving a BS Degree in Geological
Sciences (1983) and a MS in geophysical Sciences (1989). The
Science Department has been his classroom of choice since 2002.
He teaches Biology and is working on the new Earth Science course coming out in Fall of 2010..
The Environmental Club and
the Druid Lake Project are two of Mr. Wehrheim's interests.
Prior to become a science teacher, he was an environmental
consultant specializing in investigation and remediation of
hazardous waste, and contaminated soil and water.
His hobbies include hunting and fishing (especially musky), as
well as jogging (10-12 miles/week) and singing with his church
choir. Mr. Wehrheim's family includes his wife and three
daughters. |

Mr. Zimmer

Mr. Zimmer joined the teaching
staff at HUHS in 1993. He currently teaches Chemistry and
Honor's Chemistry II.
He attended Northland College where in 1987 he receive
his Bachelor's Degree. Continuing his education at Cardinal
Stritch University resulted in a master of Science Degree in 1990
and a Broadfiled Science, Biology, and Chemistry teaching license
from UW-Milwaukee in 1993.
Mr. Zimmer was named a Master Educator in
2004 after earning National Board Certification in Adolescent and Young Adult Science.
When not in the classroom, Mr. Zimmer keeps himself busy with an
active family life (he and his wife have three children), fishing or
enjoying music. |
