I graduated from Hartford Union High
School in 1996 and continued my education at the
University of South Dakota. While attending college, I
was a member of the women’s basketball team. I graduated
from the University of South Dakota in May of 2000. I
then taught German for one year at the middle school in
Vermillion, South Dakota. During my first year of
teaching, I also coached basketball, volleyball, and
track.
In June of 2001, I was married to my
wonderful husband, Paul, and accomplished moving back to
Wisconsin. My first year back in Wisconsin, I taught
Physical Education (K-8) and German (1-8) at St. Kilian’s
School. My husband is also a teacher at Richfield/Platt
School (K-8). He is beginning his 3rd year (seventh
year overall) teaching
Physical Education and Health at Richfield/Platt. He
also takes on the responsibilities of Richfield's
Athletic Director. He previously taught four years
at Saylesville School as a Physical Education and Health
teacher.
Besides my husband's teaching duties, he loves to coach. He is currently coaching at Hartford Union High School as a Varsity Assistant Football Coach and JV Boys' Basketball Coach.
I am now starting my sixth year of
teaching (my eighth year overall) at Hartford Union High
School. I am currently teaching Freshmen, Sophomore, and
Junior Physical Education, and Freshmen and Junior Health. During the summers of 2002-2006, I successfully completed my Masters Degree from
the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Physical Education, Health, and Coaching.
I am currently the head girls' basketball coach at Hartford Union High School. I was the JV volleyball coach at
Hartford Union High School during the years of 2002-2005, the women’s basketball head
assistant coach at Concordia University during the years of 2004-2006, and the freshmen
fastpitch softball coach at Hartford Union High School during the years of 2004-2006.
My husband and I helped chaperone
twenty students for the
2004 Summer German Trip with Frau
Johnson. It was an amazing three weeks of traveling
overseas together. During our stay in Germany, I was able
to meet up with my host family that I stayed with in the summer of 1996 when I went as a student with Hartford Union
High School. It was an experience that we will never
forget!
On April 19th, 2006, my husband and I became proud parents of our little baby girl named Alaina Lynn Shelsta. She is the highlight of our lives! She is a "lively" little girl who loves to play anything and everything, especially basketball!
My favorite thing to do is spending time together with my husband and my precious little daughter! I enjoy every minute I can get.
