Citing Sources

Television sources are referenced according to type. Elements of a television broadcast citation should include:

Producer , (Title/Role of individual). (Date). Title of broadcast [Television broadcast]. Location of network/channel headquarters: Network/channel airing.

Example:

Ziebarth, M. (Executive Producer). (1999, April 1). It's elementary
my dear Plato [Television broadcast]. Milwaukee and Chicago:
Public Broadcasting Service.

Elements of a television series citation should include:

Producer , (Title/Role of individual). (Date). Title of series.
Location of network/channel headquarters: Network/channel airing.

Example:

Hemingway, E. (Executive Producer). (1951). The Big Two-Hearted
River: Where life exists as it should. Marquette, MI: WLUC.

Elements of a single episode within television series citation should include:

Scriptwriter (Date). Title of episode. (Director). In Name
of producer (Producer), Title of series. Location of
network/channel headquarters: Network/channel airing.

Example:

Murphy, D. (1998). A few good men. (G. Pepper, Director).
In N. Shapiro (Producer), Dateline. New York: New York
Broadcasting Company.
