Exceptions

More than one author: List each author last name first. Use commas between authors when there are more than two. Use an ampersand (&) rather than the word "and" to link authors. Now only list up to six authors. The seventh and subsequent authors are abbreviated as "et al."

An article or chapter in a multi-volume book: If there is an identified author or editor, use the rules listed above. If there is no identifiable author or editor, begin with the title of the chapter or article as you would with a periodical. Type the word "In" before the title of the book.
