  • the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (local)
  • USA Today (national)
  • the International Herald Tribute (global)

Copies may be made of articles free of charge.

Online

Online database subscriptions provide access to periodical sources previously published in print.

  • Proquest Newspapers provides allows you to access a hundreds of national and global news services.
  • Wisconsin Newstand offers access to larger Wisconsin based papers, including the Capital Times and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Editorials
Editorials offer personal perspective and opinion of both professional columnists and private citizens. To find editorials, type the word "editorial" in the search box along with your keywords.
Magazines
Print
The HUHS library subscribes to many weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly magazines. A complete list of these resources is available here (coming soon!). Magazines appropriate for current events are on reserve for student-researchers and do not circulate. You can made copies of these articles free of charge.
Online

EBSCO Host Magazines are made available through the state (Badgerlink). EBSCO is actually a collection of databases. Be sure to select MasterFile and MAS Ultra when searching this powerful resource. Watch for:

  • HTML Full Text Articles: Feature text only! Database indicates if we own the hard copy of the resource.
  • PDF Articles: A "copy" of the original, includes pictures and original layout. Ask your teacher if this will be considered a "print" resource.
Internet News

Internet news is only as reliable as the source it comes from. Be sure to consider

  • the sponsoring news agency (reputation, biases)
  • sources cited in the article (balanced presentation)

We can listen and watch news through a variety of resources, including photos and other graphics, radio, television, and online broadcasting.
