| The HUHS Library Media Center is open to ALL students before and after school, as well as during study halls. There are class, group, and individual study areas, including the "sunny" global cafe area, with wireless access. Our computer lab provides students with access to most software applications used throughout the school and our Media |
Production Lab supports students engaged in the production of audio and video projects with the digital equipment and editing software they need.
Our media collection includes print, audio, audio-visual and online resources.
Please feel free to seek information, explore new ideas, browse the media, read, write, quietly discuss, finish school work.
Please do not use the center for
in-school napping, double lunch dates, avoiding school work. |

During the lunch study halls (5A/5B) students may report directly to the library with a pass from a classroom teacher or the Library Media Specialist. Seating may be limited due to project reservations Students assigned regular study halls (1-4/6-8) students should report to their study hall first and request a pass to the LMC.
- Students are invited to sit 2 per table in the reading area.
- Individual study carrels are provided for those seeking more secluded study.
- Groups of 3-4 may request a group study table. It is assumed that students in group study are working together on the same project or tutoring in the same subject.
- Larger study groups may request use of the study room with teacher sponsorship.
All students must present pass.
Drop your pass with name/ID number in the basket at the sign-in desk. Please be prepared to present student ID when requested. Students may not leave the Media Center mid-period without a written pass from media staff or a supervising teacher. Students on restriction must have a pass from a teacher with whom they are currently enrolled.
The media center staff may restrict use by independent researchers / browsers if the library is full.
...about library restrictions:
Loud and disruptive activity interferes with the rights of other students. Keep your cool or lose the privilege to use the LMC outside of class.
- 1st time = expect a warning (not 5!)
- 2nd offense = 2 weeks restricted privledges
- 3rd warning = restriction of privledges for the remainder of the semester, not to be less than 2 month
Students may also be placed on library restriction at the request of a classroom teacher or parent. |
