I truly believe that each and every student has the capability to learn a World Language.  Once the desire and the effort are present, the sky's the limit!!

I have been teaching here at Hartford Union High School for the past 16 years.  I have had the opportunity to work, not only in the Spanish department, but also in the CA$H and School Within a School areas.  I have been assistant coach to the girl's basketball team, a cheerleading advisor, a class advisor, a SAP co-advisor, a Student Counsel advisor, just to name a few of my non-teaching activities.  For the past year, I have had the unique opportunity of teaching pre-school Spanish to 3 to 5 year olds at the Recreation Department.  I also had a wonderful experience substituting in the Counseling office for a semester!

I graduated from Carroll College in 1989 with a major in Spanish and minors in Secondary Education and English.  Carroll did a wonderful job of "getting me out" in four years, as well as preparing me for interviewing.  Due to my good experiences there, I was able to find a teaching job immediately upon graduation.  Since then, I have earned  my Master's degree in Education through Aurora University.  I have had the opportunity to travel to Spain and Colombia, and truly feel like a life-long learner!  I am the single parent of a wonderful little boy (who, yes, knows a bit of Spanish already!), I do some crafting in my limited spare time and I run for fun!

Some of my long-term goals are:

              * to incorporate more technology into my classes

              * to give all students the opportunity to succeed in Spanish

                              * to visit the pyramids of Mexico

I hope that this page has given you a bit of an insight.....if you would like to contact me directly, my e-mail address is: lisa.fendt@huhs.org  My phone number is 673 8950, extension 289.  I look forward to hearing from you and working with your son or daughter.
