Inspired by The Adventures of Dr. Alphabet
(104 Unusual Ways to Write Poetry), by Dave Morice,
Mr. Boyd and Ms. Courchane challenged their creative writing
students to generate art object poems. Here are the results as displayed in the hallway
Poetry Gallery.

"He who wants to understand the poem must go to the
land of poetry." Goethe

This year's Creative Writing classes were challenged to come up with secrets they'd never told anyone, put them on a postcard anonymously, then display them. Oconomowoc High School's Art classes also participated under the direction of Ms. Cara Mooney. Other English teachers here also had their students participate. What emerged was a variety of emotions and secrets, a true snapshot of what it is in this day and age to be a teenager. You can enjoy our inspiration for this project on postsecrets.com and by buying their two books at the local bookstores.

Part of the Spring, 2007 Poetry Gallery included the PoPo Project
The Po Po Project: Ms. Bloomer's Pottery students taught 2 classes of  Creative Writing students how to throw their first (for most  pot on the wheel. Creative Writing students then taught the Pottery students how to write poems about the pottery experience and both groups wrote poems about that elusive first wheel experience and exhibited their first pots with their poems in the Poetry Gallery.
