ABOUT CASH

C.A.$.H. is organized in a very informal manner. Areas are established for individual and small group instruction.

A wide variety and selection of high interest books and current magazines appropriate to the curriculum of high school students are easily available to all participants in the C.A.$.H. program. Course textbooks and student reference books are available and accessible in the room.

Purpose
The purpose of the program is to promote academic improvement through content area study help for the students with a demonstrated need for supportive service.

Philosophy
The goal of C.A.$.H. staff is to help each student succeed in school. How he feels about himself and how he thinks others feel about him are the keys which unlock a student's learning process. C.A.$.H. stresses the positive approach to insure students' achievement. The C.A.$.H. program provides supplementary help to aid students in improving their level of achievement on specific class assignments. This success motivates the student to achieve at a higher level and this improves his grades.

Staff
Teachers certified in reading assist paraprofessional lay tutors in the C.A.$.H. teacher must be aware of the curriculum needs of all participants. Emphasis on subject oriented vocabulary and study guides containing information parallel to the content areas are provided whenever possible.
