Hartford Union High School Daily Announcements - Friday, May 2, 2008 Attention Academic Recognition and Striver Students: If you are unable to attend the program on Monday, please stop in the Counseling Office today to pick up your award. If you are participating in a sport on the same evening as the program and plan to attend, please stop in the Counseling Office to pre-register. Next Monday at 7 p.m. is the Academic Recognition Program. Registration for the program is from 6:00 to 6:45. All students who are a part of the Academic Recognition Program as well as Striver students who improved their G.P.A. between third and first quarters are invited to attend. If you are planning to attend the program but are unable to register between 6:00 and 6:45, you must inform Mrs. Young in the Counseling Office on or before Friday, May 2. There will be many door prize drawings throughout the evening. All Academic Recognition and Striver Students are eligible for door prizes. You must be present to win the prizes! Top prizes include: (2) Dental Professionals Whitening Treatments, $150 Best Buy Gift Card, $170 Expedition Supply Gift Certificate, and (2) digital cameras. If you cannot attend, stop in the Counseling Office by next Friday, May 9, to pick up your award. We encourage all students, parents, faculty, and staff to attend to help HUHS celebrate these outstanding academic achievements. National Honor Society members are reminded to turn in their service hour form to the Counseling Office by today. Also, senior National Honor Society members need to submit a $25 check by for a NHS stole to be worn at graduation. The Boys Varsity Track and Field Team won the WLT relays last night. All track and field boys athletes meet in the fieldhouse for practice at 3:00 sharp. The Boys Tennis Team bounced back with a 6-1 victory over Beaver Dam last night. The JV team also won 6-1. Regular practice today, meet in room 204 if there is rain. Tennis players that haven't picked up apparel purchases should do so today. The Varsity Golf Team finished in 1st place of round #5 at Old Hickory Golf Course last night. We now are in 2nd place overall. Good job and keep it going! The JV Boys Golf team finished 1st again! They are only 1 point out of first place with 2 to go! The JV Girls Soccer faced Beaver Dam last night and came out strong to win 3-0. Good Job girls! Congratulations to Thea Kanneman from the HUHS Environmental Club. Thea won a scholarship from the Great Lakes Sport Fishermen to attend the University of Wisconsin Natural Resources Careers Camp. Way to go Thea! Attention all FFA members, there will be a Food For America meeting next Tuesday, May 6th at 7:00 am. All members who plan to work for Foood for America must be there. This meeting is mandatory! Boys Swimmers who purchased a "2007-08 Wisconsin Little Ten Dual Champs and Conference Meet Champs" patch can pick it up in the Co-Curricular office. Girls track should bring swim suits and towels today in addition to their practice clothes and meet by the Hall of Fame. The deadline to sign up for the June ACT test is Friday, May 9th.
