From 1967-70 there was a North and South Division to the Conference.

Prior to 1988, the WLT coaches met to select an All-Conference Team.  The WLT began holding a Conference Tournament in 1988.  From 1988-99 the WLT Team Champion was determined by combining the dual victories with the tournament finishes.

Beginning in the 1999-2000 season, the WLT will award a trophy for the dual champions and the tournament champions.

The composition of the league has changed in recent years, with Waupun leaving in 2004 and Slinger joining in 2006.
