Families:  We could use a few more athletes. Talk up swimming amongst young people in this district!  We need to "Feed The Machine" with athletes for years to come.  If you know any 8th graders, encourage them to go out for any fall sport.  It is a spectacular way to start the school year "pre-networked" with several dozen familiar faces.  If you know anyone who tries out for another sport but doesn't make it, send them to the pool.

Also, as you can see next to Lincoln Elementary, the best outdoor swim training/competition facility in the state of Wisconsin has been built.

Young athletes of Hartford: want to rule the new pool?  Join up with the Lake Country Swim Team right away so you'll have some strength-building swimming experience.  The High School Swim programs very much benefit from a vibrant local age-group swim scene.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I have to do before the season starts?

  • Go up and over to the "ACTIVITIES" tab (or punch HERE) and scroll down to the "2016-2017 WIAA Sports-Required Co-Curricular Forms" section.  It is all laid out there.  Most importantly, get that physical lined up as soon as you can.  You hate for that to be a mad rush in August.
  • Wear any competitive practice suit you wish to wear.  Be prepared to purchase the teammeet suit in August (unless last year's suit is still in good shape).
  • Purchase some competitive swimming goggles.  I recommend clear, since you'll be indoors.  You might want to just purchase two pair right away. They're easy to lose.
  • Identifiable waterbottle.  Absolutely.  Hydration, people!
  • We have a large focus on dryland core strength building.  Always have shirt, shorts, and shoes available.
  • *new thing...Find an old, crummy pair of sneakers to wear in the pool for kick-building sets and drills.  (Prizes will be awarded for the most horrid shoes.)
  • Periodically check the 2016 Girls Swimming Calendar PDF link above for any changes.  This is maintained as the most up-to-date calendar.

The girls swimmers were joined by a few boys from the boys team for the swim across Pike Lake this year. Then after the swim they changed and ran up to the overlook tower and back before having subs and some relaxing team bonding time at the park. They talk about next year maybe biking from the High School and making it a full mini marathon.
