Hartford came into Thursday nights' game with a spot already reserved in the WIAA Playoffs, however, the Orioles could improve their position including a possible seed with a win against the Beaver Dam Golden Beavers (2-7, 1-5) and Hartford proceeded to do just that with a convincing 62-21 victory. The first quarter and a half of play gave no indication of this kind of score though as Beaver Dam moved fluidly down the field against the shocked Oriole defense. Beaver Dam jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and had the game tied at 14-14 at one point. The Oriole offensive juggernaut, however, would quickly erase any thoughts of an upset win by the Beavers. Zach Christopherson was stellar in his final regular season game tossing 3 touchdown passes and rushing for another. Aaron Rusch set a new Hartford record in the ballgame with two touchdown receptions bringing his total to 11 and Derek Wilcox caught a 6 yard pass to end the first half scoring. The Oriole ground game was stellar as Lawrence Gales and Charlie Weissman ran all over Beaver Dam scoring a touchdown a piece. Brian Wojciechowski added a 5 yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter to seal the scoring. After the early scare the Hartford defense erupted, Nick Holstine recorded 3 sacks and Jared Filo intercepted a tipped pass for a touchdown. Aside from breaking the single season touchdown record, Aaron Rusch went over the 1,000 yard receiving mark on the season, a feat that has never been close to being challenged by an Oriole receiver. The 62 points put up by the Orioles is the second highest total in Dan Brunner's 16 years with the Orioles coming up 6 points short of the 68 points put up by the 2002 football team against Milwaukee Pulaski. Hartford finishes the season 6-3 and 5-1 alone in second place in the Little Ten Conference and now plays the waiting game to see where they fall in the Division 1 playoff picture.
