The Hartford Oriole Varsity Reserve captured their second victory over the Oconomowoc Cooney in four days by defeating the visitors 6-0 on Monday. The VR squad again had to deal with not only a stout opponent, but also unforgiving elements. A driving rain storm and some sloppy play kept the Oriole offense in check as their only score came on a first quarter touchdown run by Junior Travis Frazier. Thanks to another tremendous effort by the Oriole defense this would prove to be enough. Luke Vogds and Josh Tucker showed their propensity for intercepting the football for the second week in a row. Vogds picked off two Cooney passes and Tucker snagged one. The secondary's success was due in a large part to the constant pressure provided by Ken Miller. Jordan Mantz and Tyler Miller plugged the middle and shut down any hope of a Cooney rushing attack. The Varsity Reserve squad improves to 2-0 on the season with the victory.
