The State Championships are divided into three varsity divisions. The tournament director takes the average of the individual's national ratings and that becomes the team rating. The national ratings are determined as players play in rated tournaments.

Below is a chart of the 14 teams that either had to be in Division 1 because their ratings are high, or requested to be in Division 1.

Hartford won Division 2 last year, and so opted into Division 1 this year just to see how well we would do. We exceeded all expectations!
