JANUARY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Cassandra Morgan – Casey was selected by the Attendance Office. Casey found a girl’s billfold in the parking lot after school and returned it to the attendance office. Everything was in it and the owner of it was thrilled to have it back in her possession. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Sarah Tweedale – Sarah was selected by the Counseling Office. Sarah volunteered to talk to the 8th grade girls at the SISTAS workshop about co-curriculars and how to make the most out of high school. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!

Emily Goeller – Emily was selected by the Attendance Office. Emily found another student’s debit card and turned it into the office. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Jennifer Blalock – Jennifer was selected by Senor Scharpf as a Student of the Month in the World Language Department. Jennifer es muy inteligente, siempre hace la tarea, y siempre esta preparada para la clase de espanol. (Jennifer is very intelligent, always does the homework, and always is prepared for Spanish class.) Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Olivia Algiers – Olivia was selected by Senor Scharpf as a Student of the Month. Olivia es una estudiante muy lista, siempre tiene la requesta correcta, y siempre viene preparada a la clase de espanol. (Olivia is a very bright student. She always has the correct answer and always comes to Spanish class prepared.) Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Amber Steuer – Amber was selected by the Phy Ed Department. Amber served as an assistant in the Adaptive and Specialized Physical Education class this past semester. Amber exemplified leadership, compassion and cooperation as she helped the students in that class succeed. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!

Adam Tomashek – Adam was selected by Health teacher, Ms. Hall. Adam is an outstanding student in Health class. Adam is a very intelligent and focused young man who displays a positive attitude in class everyday. Thanks for being a 1st Class student!
Myranda Weber – Myranda was selected by Social Studies teacher, Ms. Bertram. Myranda started the semester with a quiet demeanor and continued to show more excitement for the content by volunteering and excelling in participation. Her work exemplified care and thoroughness. Her attitude was that of pleasantness and respect for all in the classroom and for me as her facilitator. Myranda not only did what was expected of her, she showed that she genuinely cared about her work and relationships. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Kyle Schmalzer – Kyle was selected by his Science teacher, Mr. Kawecki. Kyle is an outstanding AP Physics student. He demonstrates his higher level math skills and analytical ability through his concise and wellorganized solutions of complex problems. Kyle also does an excellent job in writing lab reports, showing a clear understanding of the physics concepts involved. Thank you for being a 1st Class student.
Joshua Olson – Josh was selected by his World Language teacher, Ms. Piittmann. Josh always has a positive attitude, uses the French language creatively, is an enthusiastic learner and works well with others. He is hard working and great to have in class. Thanks for being a 1st Class student!
Taylor Schenk – Taylor was selected by his World Language teacher, Ms. Piittmann. Taylor has a great sense of humor, is creative and enthusiastic. Taylor helps others in the class be successful, is courteous, and always prepared for class. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Matt Brackman – Matt was selected by his Social Studies teacher, Mr. Kelly. Matt brings a positive attitude to class every day. He is always engaged and asks very pertinent questions that spark class discussion. Matt works extremely well with all class members during group work and sets a strong example for others. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Jessica Chase – Jessica was selected by Supervisor Mrs. Simon. Jessica has a good attitude and her attendance is very good. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Kayla Claas – Kayla was selected by Art teacher, Ms. Siebers. Kayla is an excellent AP Studio Art student. She is highly motivated, on task, full of ideas, and a pleasure to work with. Kayla is also serving as a student helper during 2nd hour this semester. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Amy Burg – Amy was selected by her English teacher, Ms. Courchane. Amy has been hospitalized much of this school year, yet she’s always prepared for Advanced Creative Writing and writes very well. She never complains about deadlines or asks for extra time. She’s a wonderful person and very talented. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Andrew Kelliher – Andrew was selected by his English teacher, Mr. Dobberstein. Andrew makes the extra effort in asking questions, coming in after school, and using the Writing Center. Andrew makes an extra effort in oneon- one sessions to master concepts and does so consistently. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Stacie Anderson – Stacie was selected by Mrs. Rettler, the CA$H Director. Stacie is courteous, polite and helpful with group assignments. She is always on time, has a positive attitude and willing to go the extra mile to achieve success. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Cody Schneider – Cody was selected by Mrs. Rettler, CA$H Director. Cody has been working diligently to improve his grades. He pays attention in class, follows directions, does his best to complete the assignments on time, and has made a sincere effort to improve his academic status first semester. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Ross Volkmann – Ross was selected by Supervisor Mrs. Horen. Ross volunteered his help to Mrs. Horen to set up the tables for lunch though it meant Ross eating later. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Brian Stapleton – Brian was selected by the Business and Information Technology Department. Brian demonstrated a very strong work ethic in both Digital Input Technology and Software Applications. It is this same work ethic that helped Brian earn his Microsoft Office Specialist certifications in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point. In addition, Brian is always willing to lend a hand to any of his classmates inside and outside of the classroom. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Melanie Fair – Melanie was selected by her World Language teacher, Ms. Loebel. Melanie is in French 2 this year and is a pleasure to have in class. Not only is Melanie an excellent student, but she truly enjoys learning the language and the cultural aspects of the class. She asks insightful questions and encourage others to do their best in the language as well. Felicitations Melanie! Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
Ben Schmirler – Ben was selected by the Math Department. Ben is taking Honors Geometry and Honors Algebra 2 at the same time. Because of his enthusiasm, dedication, and work ethic, he earned an A+ in both classes for the semester. Thank you for being a 1st Class student!
